Movie Review: Inception

Riley and I loved this movie and whole-heartedly recommend it. The special effects were fantastic and the plot was phenomenal. I don't want to give anything away about it so I won't say much. But we loved this movie and have already seen it twice. It's pretty clean too. The only thing it has is some language but there really isn't that much of it . It's intense and makes you think. WARNING: Go to the bathroom before the movie starts so you don't miss anything in the story. Let us know if you go and see the movie because we would love to discuss it with you. Father's Day

Today is Father's Day and, while it is sad to not be able to call Dad up and talk, I take comfort in knowing his love for us and knowing that we will again see him and be able to talk again. Father's Day will always be a special day for me because it was the last day that I talked with him. I remember the details of our conversation very well. When he passed away a few days later and I was on a plane to Kennewick, I recorded the details of our conversation as they were still fresh in my mind.

In one part of our conversation, I told him that I loved him and that he was a great Dad and set a great example for me as a husband and future father. He told me that he loved his wife and kids very much and that he was blessed with a great family. Just wanted to make sure that you all heard that from him today.

We talked about several other things and I will include a full transcript of our conversation in a family history piece I am writing. It has almost been a year since Dad passed away and we all miss and love him very much. Though I think of him daily, I am glad to have this Father's Day to remember and celebrate our Dad.

Today in Sacrament Meeting, we sang O My Father, which is about disconnection and one's plea to be in the presence of our Heavenly Father again. I love how lyrics of the song connect our earthly existence to our heavenly existence and I hope all of you look over the words of that hymn and think about the eternal nature of life and the love of God.

Boycott or See

Since our family loves Karate Kid, I wondered what everyone thinks of the new remake. Are you boycotting because a remake could never touch the original? Christian assures me that this new one will be much better than the old one. So we'll be going to see it (at least some of us will go to see it--I try to limit Joseph's exposure to violence because he tries everything he sees out on Gracie). Let me know what you think...

An exercise in futility

My efforts to reach out to the family on Sunday night have become extremely comical to me. Everyone has a cell phone but no one ever answers it. This week the report is:

Evan: no answer

Happy Mother's day

Happy Mother's day to the greatest mother in the world! I'm so thankful you're our mother. You've always been a tender caregiver and I've always appreciated your good example. I will always have the image of you praying at your bedside in my mind. As a child, I knew prayer was important to you because you always prayed so, it has always been important to me too. I know that's because of your influence.

I'm thankful for your advice and help on the new baby Riley and I are going to have. I have alot of questions and you are an expert on taking care of babies. I hope I can be the nurturer you were/are.
