An exercise in futility



My efforts to reach out to the family on Sunday night have become extremely comical to me. Everyone has a cell phone but no one ever answers it. This week the report is:

Mom: answered


Janelle: no answer


Mike: no answer


Ryan: no answer


Jon: no answer


Amy: no answer


Evan: no answer
I hope you all are doing well and have a great week! Know that I'm thinking of you...and that I tried.

Jen, You know I always answer my cell phone. We left our house so quickly this evening I forgot my phone. This is the truth. I will call you tomorrow now that I am no longer working. I know exactly how you feel. Nobody answers their phone the first time. Janelle and Ryan are the worst. I'm sorry to attack you two but it's true. Mom has gotten better at keeping her cell phone near her. Thanks mother. You and I are the best at answering.

Thanks for calling Jen. We are doing well. I don't know if Amy can claim she is best at it. I called her yesterday and she didn't answer. Amy often points the finger but often needs to turn the finger right around.

i know that i am horrible at my cell phone so i went back to do a little research on exactly how many calls you have given me and the results were suprising. During april-june 13th i called you, jen, 19 times. april-june13th, jen, you have called me 8 times. thats 8INCOMING calls from you jen from both of your phone numbers. i have the dates and times if you want to check my work. i just looked at our bill online. yes, i miss calls, but i usually call back and apparently i call you a lot more than you call me. i know it is so frustrating trying to ge ahold of anyone in this family, but i think we all need to try harder and that it isnt just one sided.

jen...i know you were being partially kidding...i was merely defending my position b/c i know that i am bad at answering:) i am NOT mad or upset. i am unfortunatly out of minutes already for the month. michael used up most of them SHOCKINGLY...he used 500 of our 700 anytime minutes...so i will call on the weekend or after 9. our bill was 300 last month. we need to get a new plan figured out b/c this one isnt working....
