This is interesting. I think that Obama is clearly more liberal than the Bush or McCain profess to be. However, neither Bush nor McCain can be said to have adhered to conservative principles recently.
It is interesting that the partial nationalization of the major banks in the United States -- an unprecedented, dramatic and scary move toward socialism -- came during a Republican administration, is the result of the greed and financial mismanagement of largely Republican power-brokers, and came at their request. This underscores the point that their are elements of both parties determined to take us places that we don't want to go.
By the way, that last comment was made by me, RZA.
The article discusses the following 20 issues and how Bush and Obama supported the same side of the issue in certain instances:
1. Abstinence
2. Affirmative action
3. Budgets
4. Capital punishment
5. Education
6. Economics
7. Energy
8. Faith-based initiatives/fatherhood
9. FISA
10. Gay marriage
11. Global AIDS
12. Health care
13. Middle-class tax cuts
14. Minority homeownership
15. National security
16. Offshore drilling
17. Racial profiling
18. Religion
19. Supreme Court ruling on gun ban
20. Welfare reform
The only "lock-stepping" I am seeing on this blogspot is apparently two lawyers who appear to be falling "lock-step" in line with the main stream media's take on the two presidential candidates and their supporters. I respectfully submit that you consider not following the "herd" and think for yourselves what is the right choice for you even though it may not be in "lock-step" with the so called bright "thinkers" of our day. I know how "persuasive" Keith Olberman and his ilk are, but try and see past their dazzling displays of intellect even though your conclusion might be a minority opinion. It's tough to go against the crowd but I am confident you can do it!
Dad
I do not subscribe to cable and therefore I don't know what goes on with the liberal tv pundits. I suspect that they are guilty of practicing propaganda just as much as the conservative radio hosts are guilty of the same.
I have not committed my vote to either candidate. I posted the link to this article in an effort to get people to view the totality of the circumstances with Obama. The article highlights how Obama is with Bush on any number of things.
sorry, i couldnt read it...tara wall? cnn contributor? i couldnt get past the black beaded choker and the 800 lbs of makeup....
