Driver's License

I have finally obtained my driver's license. Now I have three years of Sun Mart runs to look forward to. But I can also control when I get to school, and when I can drive myself home. I don't have to rely on Mom and Dad to take me places anymore. I always hated asking them for rides to places. Once Track season is over, I might try and find some sort of job. A kid has offered me a job mowing lawns, or I could apply at McDonalds. Now I am the Master.

Sorry Carly

TOO BAD ABOUT CARLY! Some members of this blogging community like to talk about certain AI contestants being boring or one-dimensional. However, I think Carly epitomized one-dimensional: her performances were always the same--LOUD and ANGRY. Go David and Brooke!

i just posted this on my blog, but wanted it here as well...

Thank you mom and dad for your wonderful genes....no, I am not talking about my good looks (which are apparent), I am talking about my teeth. One of my teeth was feeling sore, so I made an appointment with a dentist. Assuming it was a cavity that could be taken care of I went in to the appointment....but, much to my surprise, it WAS NOT a cavity. It was a nerve issue due to my recent sinus problems. I had NO cavities. Now, this might not be amazing to some of you, but it is pretty amazing to me. I haven't had a cavity since I got my braces off (about 14 years ago). Now this amazes me because I am not a very diligent teeth cleaner. I do not have a fancy toothbrush, just one from the dollar store. I go to the dentist once every year if I am not pregnant....then it is longer. I floss my teeth MAYBE 4 times in a year and I eat about 100 pounds of sugar in a year. The only attention and care I put into my teeth is brushing them in the morning and before bed. Twice a day...that is it. Is that all it takes? Considering how little I worry about my teeth, I was just very surprised. So, thank you mom and dad, I can only attribute my teeth success to your superior genetics.

Birthday Cake

I just wanted to show everyone the delicious cake Riley made for me. You will note the reeses peanut butter cups on the side as well as crumbled into bits on top of the cake. That's not all. Riley made a peanut butter icing to go over the top of a chocolate cake. It was absolutely mouth watering. Reeses are my favorite candy and he sculpted a master piece with that knowledge.

Friendly Cat or Viscious Beast?

This is a picture of our cat Sweety's most recent kill. We find a ripped up carcass like this on our front porch almost everyday, usually a gopher, mouse, or bird. Can anyone guess what sort of animal this was? I suppose it's good that our cat lets no vermin reach the house, but does he have to present it to us? Like a trophy? Or is he, like Han Solo, expecting a reward for his trouble?

Critical Acclaim

Does Dolly Parton, the author of hundereds, if not thousands of songs, many of which have been best sellers, qualify as a legitimate voice critic?

Somewhere Over the Rainbow - IZ

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

I like these two the best. I loved the 'IZ' song. These 2 are not copy cat karaoke singers. They are slightly more original and interesting.

This is dad's favorite....here is a picture of me sleeping (ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's) while I watch his boring performances. Yes, I think he has a nice voice...but he is sooooooooooo forgettable to me....no originality, no personality...

David Cook is my LEAST favorite contestant on this show.....BARF!

If David A. can make it this far...Jonny, I think you should try out next season.

A question...

Hi everyone,

Ron and I are getting worried about getting our food storage. We've noticed food prices going up and our stake president seems very focused on encouraging the members of our stake to get our food storage. It seems the price of wheat has tripled over the past year. Our local cannery is rationing white wheat (but not red wheat). Here's an article about the soaring cost of food...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23882299/

I'm not trying to be an alarmist but I just want to encourage everyone to try to stock up on some food when its on sale and maybe take a trip to the cannery to get some of the essentials.

Also I was wondering what you all eat thats cheap and if you do anything in particular to save money on food? Mom used to make us ghoulash (which I hated) and that was probably something pretty economical to make. Do you have any other cheap foods that you like?

To end this post on a lighter note, Joseph has begun insisting on being called "Robert" (its his first name if some of you don't know). Sometimes he wants to be called Robert, sometimes Joseph. When he wants to be called Joseph its because he says the name Robert "sounds like a robber."

I miss my family and I'm very glad we do this blog!

Love,

Jen
